It's 2009. So, what's up?
I've been thinking a lot lately. A lot of people actually know I don't really enjoy my current job, yet I still manage to drag on up to this very date, about 2 years and 9 months. Why am I still staying there? Well, other than forcing myself to learn every little things here and there, and to tame my very (used-to-be) lousy temper, I was actually contract bounded for a time period.

It's now time that I actually come to the end of this contract. About time for me to move on. Finally. After all, I never liked it here. Been through a lot of lousy moment, but that doesn't mean there aren't no sweet sides too. But I have lost my sparks, and I still couldn't light up here with this company.

I didn't expect so many bumps in 2008, yet, those are the times which I actually gain more experience in dealing with situation, people and myself. Not a bad one, I say. I grew up. I've been getting a little comfortable here in the hell hole. Still, I can't get too comfortable with something, someone gotta move my piece of cheese.

Life is not a fairy tale, it is made of determination, hard work and choices. We make choices day and night, with everyone, everything. It is like a cross road every time. Left, right or center, each path will leads to even more choices. And of course, life is not a fairy tale, not all choices, in some cases, no choice will have happy ending. But still, we can't just stand still. The show must go on.

I might need to take risk here. Economy is getting shittier, but I think is better than getting caught in the same old rat race. Hello 2009! I welcome you to grow me more with more challenges.

During the ninth month of the Islamic calender, the Muslim fast. The will refrain from consuming food, and drink even water, or their own saliva (consciously, that is). Further reading can be referred to at wikipedia.

However, as much as this is how fasting should be, the actions and attitude of must of the Muslim here in Malaysia really makes to think otherwise. It seems like that are only doing it because the Islamic Law forced them into it, for the sake of that, or they would be happily feasting as they wish too.

I have came across a few different scenario. Firstly, I would like to mention that I have nothing against Islam, or another of their practitioner. Must just be some of the bad apples among the true hearted.

First case I have seen, isn't fasting something to test the heart, and the perseverance of them? Every time when I pass by any eateries near (but before) the time for forth prayers (the time when they can break the fast and start eating). For sure there will be an army of them hogging all the tables, sitting there day dreaming, napping, staring into thin air waiting for the time to arrive. If there are children around, then I do understand that it's for their children's good. But fuck, even a full table of adults, or teenagers, will be there for the same reason. Doesn't that just show that they do not understand the reason to fast at all?

Secondly, I was at 7-eleven at a very bad timing. The break fast time in the evening. The bloody cashier took 3 minutes to come out from the pantry to serve people on the line. I asked her casually,

"Dah masa 'tuk buka puasa ke? (time to break fast?)"
"Ya, lapar lar. Total tiga ringgit lapan puluh sen (yea, I'm hungry, total of RM3.80)"
"Oh, terima kasih ya, balik makan ke? (Oh, thanks. Back to your meal?)"
"Ya!"*rush back to pantry like a hungry tiger*

I could have taken another 2 Hall's and 2 Mentos and walk out. There is no body taking charge of the whole freaking 7-eleven because they rather take risk getting fire to trade for an slightly earlier meal than take shift between them. *sigh*

So? What is the point they even bother fasting?

Disclaimer, this entry may be offensive, especially to those which is religiously devoted. Read on at your own risk.

Ever wonder why when you intent to buy a certain item, say, iPod, then out of sudden you notice 85.34% your friends seems to own one too?

When you dream of buying a car (*coughAltezzacough*), they seems to appear everyone on the road?

When you wake up with a bad feeling, and you will be so unlucky and everything seems to go against you?

Yea, some of you might already notice all these, and some even realise the reasoning mind set behind this. This is the secret, as being practiced by many great people across the generations. This is the things being covered lately, by Rhonda Byrne, in the book, The Secret, the law of attraction.

No, I am not here to cover about the content of the book, that is for you to read on your own to improve, I am not here to help you with even this kind of simple task.

The law of attraction can be applied in a daily life in Malaysia, as far as I notice, among the Religious batch of living beings. Let them be any race or religion, the chinese for example, might be Taoist (or Taoist that think they are Buddhist), or the Malay Bomoh. They all practice a certain rituals and prayers, in return, hoping for good will, protection and goodness in whatever they are doing. And yet, to the surprise, it might happen half the time. This apply to things like when I am giving you plain clear water and tell you sugar solution, and then give you another cup of water and tell you that is normal. And somehow, you think the sugar solution is sweeter even though it is obviously the same?

As far as my personal explanation can go, religion and rituals has become a tool, in which our earlier ancestors have created to to guide us using the law of attraction. Along with all the "do-good-or-you-will-go-to-hell", they also incorporated the law of attraction into the practice to make life better. If you think your life will be shower with wealth, health and happiness, chances that it will. Provided you do work towards it and doubt not about it. Fair enough right? People consult the shamans to lift their so call bad luck so their sickness, and everything bad will be banished, well, actually, there is nothing back. It's just the mindset and believes.

This also being somehow covered in The Matrix. People all the while bound in the rules set by the Machine, we are all bound by the rules and culture of the society.
"There is no spoon"

Break the barrier, apply the law of attraction, and things would go well.
